Community & safety
Pothole works best when everyone stays safe, honest, and respectful. These guidelines supplement our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Reporting issues (Reporters)
- Only report issues on public land or publicly maintained infrastructure (for example roads, pavements, parks, and public spaces) unless you have clear permission from the property owner.
- Provide accurate photos and descriptions. Misleading reports may lead to account suspension.
- Do not use Pothole to harass individuals or businesses.
Fixing issues (Fixers)
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (hi-vis, gloves, sturdy footwear where relevant).
- Do not attempt work that needs specialist skills, road closures, or council approval beyond what is lawful and safe.
- Your safety first — if something feels unsafe, do not proceed and contact support if needed.
- Only claim work you are equipped and able to complete honestly.
- Substandard or unsafe work that creates new hazards may carry legal and financial consequences for you.
Community behaviour
- Treat other users with respect. Harassment, threats, or abuse can result in immediate removal.
- Do not manipulate the bounty system (self-reporting scams, fake proof, coordinated fraud).
- If you see bad faith behaviour, report it via in-app tools or email support@pothole.fit.
Payments
Pothole routes money through Stripe. If something looks wrong with a payout or charge, contact support. Never share payment card details with other users in chat.
Emergency
If there is an immediate danger or life-threatening situation, contact local emergency services — not Pothole support.
